Less than an hour’s drive from Port Aransas is the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, Texas. Close enough to spend the day, the Aquarium is an exciting day trip to enjoy sea life that the whole family will love.
Every winter, the endangered whooping cranes migrate to the warm waters of the Texas Gulf Coast. Their arrival is celebrated in Port Aransas with the 4-day Whooping Crane Festival in late February. It’s an exciting time for nature-lovers to catch a glimpse of the beautiful cranes.
Just imagine relaxing as you watch the sun rise over the ocean in the morning, watch the ferry boats cross the waterway, or daydreaming as you watch beach carts and families enjoying the sand and waves.
