“Where should we stay?” is the question I get asked more than any other — in my Facebook group, in my inbox, from friends planning their first trip down. And Port Aransas isn’t short on options. Between hotels, condos, and vacation rental homes, there’s a place here for basically every budget and every kind of trip.
This page is just for the hotel side of that question. If you want something simple — book a room, walk in with your bags, no unit-to-unit guessing about which floor or which bedding — a hotel is usually the easiest call, and Port A actually has a solid lineup of them, from small boutique inns to full resort properties.
Here’s the short version: I’ve grouped these Port Aransas hotels below by what actually matters when you’re choosing — walkable to Old Town, right on the beach, good for families, or easiest on the wallet — so you can jump to your situation and go.
I’ve been coming to this island for 22+ years, and my husband and I own a home here now, so I don’t book hotels myself much these days — but I still keep a close eye on what’s out there, what’s changed, and which properties consistently get great reviews, because it’s the exact thing everyone asks me about.
Looking for a rental home or condo instead? Check my Vacation Rentals guide here — it breaks down the details the same way, by what your family actually needs for your Port A trip.
