A visit to Port Aransas will have you enjoying fun in the sun and sand, and your first stop before and after the beach should be the cool coastal coffee shop, Coffee Waves. Their wide variety of hot and cold coffee drinks will get you going in the morning, the paninis will have you coming back for lunch, and the delicious gelato will amaze your tastebuds. Coffee in Port Aransas has never been better.

What it’s like inside
Step inside Coffee Waves and instantly feel a warm welcome into their relaxing space. The rich smell of coffee drinks draw you in and the vibe is certainly coastal casual. The mural on the wall was painted after Coffee Waves recovered from Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017, and it looks amazing. And it’s a great selfie spot too!
Inside, there’s ample space for dining or studying or working on your computer, as well as comfortable upholstered chairs for relaxing conversation. It’s a hot spot in the mornings, very family-friendly and has a chill atmosphere throughout the day. Swing by any time of day for a hot cup of coffee in Port Aransas.

What to order
From a variety of coffee drinks to panini sandwiches, Coffee Waves offers something for all tastes. The breakfast menu offers bagels and croissants, as well as all of the classic coffees to get you going in the morning. For lunch and later in the day, Coffee Waves is a great spot to grab panini sandwiches or wraps after spending time at the beach.
Our favorite mugs to use and reuse are these Yeti Rambler Insulated Mugs with a lid to keep your drink warm. They’re easy to wash and easy to hold.
Also on the menu is their famous gelato that tastes amazing! Gelato has a rich, creamy texture and the flavors are divine. There are typically 10-12 different flavors available to choose from and each one is as decadent as the next. Don’t expect your average flavors here, these gelato delicacies are a feast for the taste buds.
As a family, we typically swing by Coffee Waves after dinner. While my husband opts for the Caramel Macchiato, and the kids always choose delicious gelato, I love to order a banana strawberry smoothie or pick one of their coolest gelato flavors of the day.

Where to find it
Coffee Waves is located in a free-standing building at The Shops at Port A. They are a great space for lounging inside, as well as chairs to sit outside. They also have a drive-thru on the side of the building, but be prepared for a line during peak hours.
